“The Aboriginal people are starving for Jesus Christ and His word”

Dear A.C.T.S. Prayer Partner,
The Aboriginal people continue to be at the Mt. Everest of despair. To measure the depth of their hopelessness after 232 years of oppression, please consider these facts as reported by the United Nations:

  • Aboriginal life expectancy is 17-20 years less than other Australians.
  • Aboriginal babies are four times more likely to die at birth.
  • Aboriginal people are 17 times more likely to be arrested, 14 times more likely to be imprisoned, and 16 times more likely to die in custody.
  • Aboriginal women in Western Australia are 41 times more likely to be imprisoned.
  • The suicide rate for Aborigines is 6 times the national rate.
  • Aboriginal unemployment is 4 times the national average.

The answer to overcoming the despair is nothing less than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In February, 1990, we were called by God to “…evangelize in Australia….the Aborigines.” For 28 years this ministry has made steady progress in building a fruitful network of 170+ Volunteer Evangelists. In recent years the progress has accelerated. For example, A.C.T.S. placed 2,650 free Biblical resources in 2016/17 and 35,300 in 2018/19.

This year we worked closely with Franklin Graham’s Tour of 6 capital cities. For example, our Volunteer Evangelists (ie. Carl Musch and Bunumbirr Marika) worked hard alongside the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) to invite, pray, witness, train, transport and disciple Aborigines before, during and after the Crusade in Darwin where 346 people came forward adding 17% to the greater Darwin church of 2,000 persons in one night.

Now, there is spiritual revival in nearly every Australian Aboriginal community! We give all the glory to God.

To place God’s word in every Aboriginal’s school or home, additional resources are needed! We have served and will continue to serve without compensation. We are approaching 79 of age and others to come alongside and continue the work. The immediate need is for one paid position in America and two paid positions in Australia who will raise their own support within 2 years. . We plan to test the use of digital marketing to generate salvations, prayer, training and independent funds.

n a discussion with one of our newer supporters, Fred asked him why he chose to support A.C.T.S. . His answer was, “leverage”. When asked to explain what he meant by “leverage”, he said, “I believe a dollar given to this ministry will result in huge numbers of transformed lives, all to the glory of God.” We pray that you can help. We covet your prayers and welcome any financial support you are able to give.

We promise to remain faithful to the Gospel and commands of Jesus!
